Founded in Stockholm in 2006 by Ben Gorham, son of an Indian mother and a Canadian father, Byredo is a Swedish niche perfume house that has redefined contemporary luxury. Inspired by memories, emotions, and multicultural experiences, the brand creates fragrances that transcend the purely olfactory to become objects of desire with an unmistakable editorial aesthetic.

The Philosophy
Ben Gorham has no formal training in perfumery — he comes from the world of art and professional basketball. This unique perspective allows him to create fragrances from an emotional and narrative place, free from the constraints of tradition. Byredo is distinguished by its Scandinavian minimalism, its iconic black and white packaging, and its ability to evoke memories and places with an almost literary precision.

Signature Fragrances
Among its most iconic creations are Gypsy Water, a fresh woody fragrance inspired by nomadic life; Bal d'Afrique, a woody floral paying homage to Africa; and Mojave Ghost, an ethereal musky floral inspired by the Mojave Desert.
